Team Guroba in it`s current guise started in 2018 - Jon and Mark bought a 1999 Ford Puma 1.7 Zetec, the Millenium Edition (no.20) and proceeded to rebuild the car, as a race car to the Puma Cup specification.
This meant a new exhaust, GAZ Gold suspension, new bushes, a Superchips map and a set of Dunlop Direzza`s.
Once all the safety equipment was installed we were good to go and have enjoyed racing in the Puma Cup since.
The Puma Cup is a brilliant entry level series, the cars are lively but predictable, not too much power for a novice but difficult enough to get the last few tenths - they are a great balance and hugely rewarding to drive.
For reference, we can get round Donington National in about 87s.
From a team point of view we are here for fun - we take the racing as seriously as anyone but we know why we do this, it`s for the grins and the memories. We have a casual approach to racing, we prepare properly, we dont cut corners and we take as much stress out of everything as we can so all thats left to do, is enjoy the racing.
Thats exactly what we do and we do it well. We have over 20 trophies from the last 5 years to prove it, many of them for winning our class.
We want to be creative and innovative with our motorsport, we try to find new ways to make it fun and engaging for everyone.
